EMDR, self-discovery & self-compassion
You are not alone; whether you're experiencing unwanted change in your health, relationships, career or life in general; or struggling with too many commitments, or a shrinking family, or fading social connections. I can help you. I help people work through complex emotional and social situations, trauma, burnout, and the challenges of living with life-limiting symptoms (anxiety, depression, pain, aging minds and bodies).
I offer counseling and psychotherapy to adult individuals, couples, and families struggling to cope with challenging milestones from separation, to severe illness, parenting/empty-nest, grief/loss and more.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Mindfulness and Contemplative therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My approach involves EMDR, mindfulness, compassion, emotional freedom technique and a variety of contemplative techniques.
I worked in medical ethics, intensive care, cancer care, liver transplant, hospice and palliative care, grief counseling, and most recently in integrated behavioral health. I am also a lecturer in Social Work at San Jose State University.
